The Farmer's Market Coordinator is responsible for running the Studio Joy and Oak Valley Youth Garden Farmer's Market during the summer months. The market is located in downtown Ripon and will run through August 9, 2018. The market will resume in late spring 2019.
Duties include:
-Liaison with current and potential vendors, secure a variety of produce and fresh food vendors
-Secure vendor paperwork, vendor's county credentials, and weekly payments
-Check-in vendors and troubleshoot any issues that may come up during market events
-Coordinate with the City of Ripon and San Joaquin County to secure yearly permits
-Must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, have good interpersonal skills, and love working outdoors during summer afternoons
-Markets are every Thursday from 3-7pm while in season. Coordinator required to be on site during those times.
This is a volunteer position. Applicant may required to submit to a criminal background check. Personal information may be required. All private information will be kept confidential.

Garden Joy desires to cultivate healthy children, families, and community, by offering a space for children and families to have a hands-on garden experience. All of the produce grown is donated to local food pantries and schools.
Description
Founded in 2016, Garden Joy was built to cultivate wellness and community through a hands-on garden program. Children who attend our program learn to garden by planting and harvesting produce to donate to local food pantries. In 2017-18 we donated over 800 pounds of produce to local food pantries in Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. In 2020, we donated over 2,000 pounds of organic produce to our local community.
