Volunteers needed for the Forbes Hospital Emergency Department Links Program
Description
The LINKS Volunteer serves as a friendly visitor to patients and identifies opportunities for improving the patient’s experience in the Emergency Department (ED). The Volunteer is present and supportive to patients and families who are being treated in the ED along with having been identified by hospital staff as having a specific need, improving the patient experience and making the hospital experience more personal. During the visit the volunteer will listen for and/or ask for feedback from the patient/family on their experience at Forbes and report any concerns to designated ED staff.
Qualifications
- Ability to actively listen and communicate with patients, family and hospital staff
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work independently
- Analytical skills to prioritize assignments
- Compassionate
- Empathy
- Ability to work flexibly
Additionally, he/she must successfully complete new volunteer orientation and meet the ongoing requirements to be a volunteer.
