For over 40 years Dogs For Better Lives has been rescuing dogs and training them as Certified Hearing Assistance dogs. We are looking for volunteers in your area to help us further our mission. The Volunteer Canine Recruiter (VCR) will visit local shelters and assess candidates for our program using materials provided by our organization. Assessments include tests for food and toy motivation, sound sensitivity, startle and recovery, friendliness, etc. and will be transmitted live via an internet conferencing app. Dogs that pass the assessment will be placed on hold by the VCR for transport to our facility. Ongoing training and support will be provided by an experienced Assessor from Dogs For Better Lives.
