A Woman's Place offers 24 hour supportive residential services as well as emergency shelter and long-term treatment programs to women and transgender women in San Francisco.

Volunteers are needed to fill various roles within the AWP shelter. This position requires knowledgeable students or professionals in the social work and psychology fields to lead support groups for the residents at AWP shelter. These residents are facing issues such as homelessness, poverty, addictions, mental health illnesses, and other life struggles. Volunteer-led support groups will help the residents combat existing issues as well as mental health issues that are a result of life trauma.
