To celebrate the 50th anniversary of trails and waterways in the National Park Service, the Lincoln Home NHS and New Salem State Historic Site are partnering for a trail cleanup and maintenance followed by a canoe trip down the Sangamon River while listening to historic interpreters discuss the importance of waterways in Lincoln's time. Anyone is welcome to join us and items such as trash bags, grabbers, hedge clippers, and canoes will be provided. You will need to bring gloves and a bottle of water.
