Mission Statement

The mission of Clear Path Hospice is to provide the best hospice care possible. Our agency is dedicated to providing care to terminally ill individuals and their family members. The philosophy of services focuses on maximizing the patient's quality of life through an individualized care program designed to meet their physical, social emotional and spiritual needs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Description

In the 1960's Dame Cicely Saunders began St. Christopher's Hospice in London, England. In 1969 Doctor Elizabeth Kubler- Ross wrote on DEATH and DYING and described the five stages a dying patient may go through. The first American Hospice was formed in New Haven, Connecticut in 1974. Local Hospices throughout the United States began as Volunteer Programs. Our goals are as follows:

- To help the patient live as fully and comfortably as possible.
- To support the family as the prime unit of care.
- To enable the patient to sty wherever they call home or if needed, to provide an appropriate care alternative.
- To provide support and education to bereaved hospice family members and the public.
- To educate the public about the hospice philosophy and the concept of care.
- To contain costs by supplementing-not duplicating services

We have and need more pet therapy volunteers, friendly visitor volunteers, vigil volunteers, bereavement volunteers, clerical volunteers, special project volunteers, such as musicians, artists, quilters, sewers, We have a Veteran Program and match Veteran Volunteers up with Veteran Patients. We are involved with the We Honor Veterans Program and were just awarded Level 1 status which allows us to use the We Honor Veterans logo on our marketing and outreach materials.
