- Responsibilities: Greet the public in person at the shelter’s greeter desk.
- Requirements: 21 years of age; Excellent customer service skills*
- Time Commitment: Determined by volunteer; minimum 6 hours/month
- Volunteer Hours: Tuesday: 2:00pm-8:00pm; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 12:00pm-6:00pm;Saturday, Sunday: 10:00am-4:00pm, 8:00am - 10:00am M-F,
10:00am - 12:00pm M-F - Two hour shifts
- Training: 1) Complete Volunteer Orientation 2) Greeter Desk Training
*Working as a greeter in a shelter requires the specialized skill of a person can empathize with the guests walking through our doors. Being able to greet all clients and situations professionally and without judgment can be challenging, but is necessary for anyone working the greeter desk.
Current needs:
8:00am - 10:00am M-F
10:00am - 12:00pm M-F
Regular schedule, 1 or more days per week

Hinsdale Humane Society is a 69 year old non-profit organization, dedicated to the care of unwanted and abandoned animals. Celebrating pets and the people who love them! Saving lives through adoption, humane education, obedience classes, behavioral training and volunteer services. OPT to ADOPT!
