About Us:
The American Cancer Society's Construction vs Cancer Las Vegas is a unique fundraising event that provides a festive, fair-like atmosphere for young cancer survivors and their families. Imagine a young child affected by cancer being given the opportunity to sit in and help operate a huge piece of equipment such as a backhoe, bulldozer or excavator! Pediatric cancer survivors will enjoy the thrill of "Sitting in the Driver's Seat"!
Social Media Intern Summary:
The Website/Social Media Intern will primarily focus on building out social media platforms as well as working with sending participant communications.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and execution of social media marketing campaigns, from the initial planning stages through to final reporting
- Manage social media posting schedules and create content with the assistance of the Development team and Marketing team
- Design creative visual content
- Develop social media campaigns and manage presence on multiple platforms
- Compile marketing statistics (e.g. followers, likes, etc.) on success of campaigns
- Remain current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to social media
- Participate in team meetings as needed
- Understand how to target, follow, and re-target participants
- Manage aspects of Construction vs Cancer website
We are looking for a website and social media intern who must:
- have the ability to work as part of a team
- have the ability to post and update all social media sites
- have excellent computer skills-Microsoft Office required
- have initiative and ability to work independently
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be able to commit to 10-15 hours per week and come into the office when necessary
- Experience with the effective marketing and utilization of social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, and Linkedin
- Proven effectiveness with managing timely delivery of work against short deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commitment to exhibiting excellent grammar and writing skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Social Media, Communications, Public Relation skills
