Silverado Hospice has an ongoing need for volunteers to offer comfort and companionship during the end of life process. Volunteers act as an additional support system for patients and/or their families through the process. Simplistic, but important task such as playing music on phone or instrument. Reading poetry/scriptures, or sitting quietly while holding the hand of a patient are effective dignifying kinds of interactions. Volunteers will often times sit with the patient/family anywhere from 1 to 2 hours on a weekly basis. Additionally, volunteers will receive training so each volunteer can feel confident.
Patient need in Cerritos is to offer companionship and emotional support. Patient requested assistance to patio area for smoke break and chats, daily or several times a week. please call Volunteer Manager to inquire, 949-606-6825.
