Global Green is seeking help from a volunteer with experience in financial modeling to contribute to our work with supporting cities in planning for increased resource efficiency and reduction of waste materials.
The use of wastewater treatment plants for "co-digesting" food waste allows for existing infrastructure, and the creation of biogas from the waste. Biogas can be used to generate electricity or transport fuel, and the compost or digestate by-product is used as a fertilizer.
This is a part of a larger project. Links with more information are provided below:

The volunteer will receive information from Global Green collected from sources including case studies of cities currently creating biogas from food waste, and from an EPA excel tool. After an initial meeting the volunteer will prepare a basic financial model that goes deeper into cash flow projections for different project types and sizes over a 5, 10 and 20 year period. Results will be explained to the Global Green team, and any needed additional research to complete the model and its assumptions will be provided by Global Green.
