The Thursday Night Market is a Chico tradition, encompassing a Certified Farmers Market as well as an evening festival of music, food and market booths.
The market is essentially a street party and we need responsible people to ensure a safe and well run event each week!
Details of the program include
- Dates: Market runs April - September 27, 2018;
- One volunteer group is needed each Thursday.
- Hours: 4:45pm-10:00pm
- Volunteers needed: Minimim of 6. More is ideal.
- Six barricades to be managed at all times
- Eight volunteers will allow your members to take breaks
- Twelve volunteers will allow your members to work in shift
- $140 per week of service
- Use of one free booth space at the market per week of service
VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES:
- Ensure safety of guests by actively managing street closure barricades.
- Greet people and welcome them to the market and Downtown Chico!
- Assist vendors and performers through market entry & exit procedures.
- Ensure proper traffic laws are obeyed at entry points and within the event during set up.
- Remind guests of event policies such as no animals, no bicycles, etc.
- Report emergencies to DCBA booth, Event Staff or Chico PD.
- Assist guests with directions to restaurants, restrooms, bike valet, event booths, shops, etc.
- Direct those seeking more information to DCBA Event Headquarters Booth
- Serve as the "Eyes and ears" for DCBA staff at entry/exit points!
