Interested in being part of the Shedd family, but short on time? You can still help! Our Special Events volunteer role is designed for those with busy and changing schedules.
All we need from you is a minimum of 40 hours per year and service at least once every 3 months. That's it!
Help things flow smoothly, and create a great impression on our guests at a variety of events. These may include Jazzin' at the Shedd, Great Lakes Actions Days, Family Workshops, and more!
You should be eager and willing to stay up to date on what’s happening at Shedd, and lend a helping hand when the call goes out. Any necessary training will be provided, so it’s easy to dive right in!
Best of all, you get to enjoy great perks like free admission, discounts, and learning opportunities.

At Shedd Aquarium, volunteers are valued partners. They can be found in almost every area of the aquarium: preparing food for our animals, sharing stories with our guests, testing water samples, and even diving. And that’s just the surface!
You don’t need to be an expert to volunteer. If you're passionate about aquatic life, and you love to learn, teach and inspire, you'll be a great volunteer!
