Are you a lover of all things feline? If you have a passion for helping animals, like to work with like-minded, animal loving people, and have good administrative skills, then we have a wonderful opportunity for you to get involved!

NAWS is a non-profit, 501c3 animal welfare organization located in Mokena, IL. Since 2007, our mission has focused on ending pet homelessness and animal suffering. To that end, in addition to our Pet Rescue Program, we also have an on-site medical center that cares for our adoptable pets, as well as providing veterinary services to the public.

We continue to grow and be able to help more pets in need, but can only do so with the support of the community and volunteers. One area in which we've really been able to expand is cat adoptions. We have been able to create a foster network of over 20 homes to take in litters until they are old enough to find forever homes. Once they are old enough, they usually come to our shelter until they are placed in a home. We have added space for the cats, and are now working to design even more space to house our adoptable kitties.

The continued growth of this program has caused a need for us to develop a strong volunteer network of dedicated individuals to care for the cats in our care. We are looking for someone with a passion for animal welfare who can dedicate about 5-7 hours a week on developing the cat care network. This would include contacting volunteers currently helping, and building the network of those interested in helping. You would receive assistance as you create this network of engaged animal lovers from our dedicated board members.

If you are an adult (18 or over) who is able to help, please contact us at jeannine@nawsus.org. Thank you!!
