Please join Councilwoman Sandoval and a Place For Life church at the annual Back 2 School event. At this event, we are going to be providing school supplies, backpacks, haircut vouchers, and immunizations to over 1,500 students! We need YOUR help to make this happen, so please consider signing up to help us prepare our students for the upcoming school year.

Below are the available opportunities for the event.

Volunteer Station Descriptions:

  • Set up from 8:00- 9:00AM- assist vendors/ hosts with logistics to ensure organization throughout the event.
  • Water Stations: 3 outside stations- two volunteers with a one hour rotation.
  • Outdoor Games: Lego land, face painting, ring toss, bean bag toss, ping pong cup, moon bounce, basketball free throw- two, to three volunteers per station with one hour rotation
  • Vendor Hospitality: the number of volunteers need will vary depending on how many vendors signed up for the event: volunteer is a runner which may be asked to bring water to their table or help distribute any material provided by the vendor

Mission Statement

Ana Sandoval is a product of San Antonio’s District 7. After graduating as Valedictorian of Thomas Jefferson High School in 1993, Ms. Sandoval went on to obtain a B.S. from MIT in Chemical Engineering, M.S. at Stanford University in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. As a Fulbright Scholar in 1997-1998, she also obtained a Diplomado in Binational Business from the ITAM in Mexico City.

The City Council acts as the policy-making and legislative body within the City of San Antonio's government.
