ORGANIZATION: Greenheart Exchange

Greenheart Exchange, a non-profit student exchange organization, is seeking volunteers in the St. Cloud, FL area to host Japanese exchange students for 2 weeks starting July 28th. The students are between the ages of 13 and 15. During the program the students have English classes and activities most weekdays, so the program is suitable for busy, working families. (Family members may also join on activities, if they wish).

The following students are in need of host families:

  • Daiki (14) - Daiki enjoys playing tennis, reading comics, and his favorite subject at school is science. He belongs to the table tennis club in school. He’s excited to travel to America for the first time.
  • Hinata (15) - Hinata loves dogs (she has a retriever), traveling, and learning about American culture. She has visited the US in the past. Hinata is looking forward to meeting her host family and practicing her English!
  • Yuri (13) - Yuri is on the track and field team and absolutely loves dogs. She is looking forward to experiencing the US with her host family.
  • Joshu (14) - Joshu participates in basketball, gymnastics, and swimming. He’s excited about learning about technology, and understands the importance of learning English to work in the tech field. Joshu has traveled a lot - he’s been to Hawaii, Saipan, San Francisco, Modesto, and Yosemite. He’s looking forward to building a relationship with his host family, just like his dad did 30 years ago!

Hosting can help you make an international friend and explore your own community through new eyes.

Hosts provide a bed (students may share a room with similarly aged host sibling), meals, and a warm and safe environment. Students come with spending money and insurance. A local American coordinator and Japanese leader are available to provide support to students and hosts 24-7. We welcome couples with and without children, single parents, and empty nesters.

If you are interested in hosting please complete our group host application to start the process:
