For over a year, we've been doing R&D on a concept to inspire a large demographic around the world to be interested in participating in cultural exchange activities.

Why? Because we're tired of the fear, bigotry and xenophobia. We believe (and have seen from our own eyes), change happens at a local level, and by using tourism to give people who don't travel a chance to have direct contact with people from around the world, we can open people's minds, while having fun!

How? We don't call them cultural exchanges! We call them MIXs (Mutual Interest eXchanges), which are themed activities (Food MIXs, Music MIXs & Photography Walk MIXs, etc.). When people connect because of a shared interest, they're much more likely to overcome their prejudices and preconceptions

The elements of a MIX are:

  • Small groups (max of 8 participants),
  • Always a moderator present (helps with language barriers, encourages a healthy exchange)
  • Always in a public space for ease of mind (parks, cultural/social centers, hostels, etc.)


Strategy:
We are building a website that will function as an event platform where anyone can Make A MIX or Find A MIX in their city, or a city they're traveling too. We have a few web developers now, but we really need more help!


We've tested on three continents, we are now getting ready for our soft launch in up to 20 countries and we need all the help we can get.

Team Leader Positions:

We are looking for a couple managers for our team who can provide effective guidance. You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members.

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engage the team to achieve goals.

Responsibilities
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Set clear team goals
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Oversee day-to-day operation
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics
  • Motivate team members
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking
  • Suggest and organize team building activities
Requirements
  • Experience as a team leader or supervisor preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of performance metrics
  • Good PC skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Decision-making skills

MIXMovement currently have over 30 volunteers in 17 countries working on brand management, legal, web development and other elements of this very dynamic project. We are constantly looking to add skilled and passionate people to our team.

MIXMovement's Motto: Cultural exchange is the seed to cultural cohesion.
