Summary: CLUES is a non-profit leader in behavioral health and human services. The agency was founded in 1981 with a vision for improving the quality of life of the Latino population in Minnesota. Today, CLUES is Minnesota’s largest Latino agency and serves the community in four distinct areas: Health and Family Well-being, Economic Vitality, Educational Achievement, and Civic and Cultural Engagement. Our services focus on the Latino family, however, our experience enables us to serve individuals and families from all walks of life.

Agency Mission: to advance the capacity of Latino families to be healthy, prosperous, and engaged in their communities.

Purpose of Position:
Activities volunteers will help increase social engagement and facilitate physical activity with center participants. Volunteers will work alongside staff to provide fun and engaging activities for the seniors at the center. Activities can include: crafts, loteria (bingo), games, conversations/story telling, and much more.

Position Type: Unpaid volunteer service

Schedule:
* Tuesday - Thursday’s, 10am -1 PM or 2-3 hours/day during activity hours (10-2), Friday’s is optional.
* Minimum time commitment: 5 hours per week

Responsibilities:
* Help with community outings, meal times, arts and crafts, social activities such as bingo or Loteria, or other activities the seniors enjoy.

CLUES reserves the right to terminate an internship or volunteer commitment if behavior is not in compliance with CLUES policies.

Qualifications:
* Basic communication skills in Spanish
* Ability read and write in English, having it in Spanish is a plus
* Follow both verbal and written directions
* Be responsible, punctual, encouraging, flexible and friendly when working the seniors and CLUES staff
* Be open and respectful to diverse life experiences, values and backgrounds.]

Requirements & Training:
* No previous training required. Training is done hands-on.
* Pass a criminal background check.
A criminal background check and/or driving record check may be required. CLUES reserves the right to conduct background checks.
