Nearly 1 in 3 older New Yorkers live with the painful, daily choice between food, medicine, and rent. Our Benefits Outreach Center works to ensure they do not have to make this choice by providing screening and application assistance for various public benefits.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SPANISH SPEAKER TO JOIN OUR TEAM!
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Volunteers will help us screen seniors todetermine their eligibility for SNAP, SCRIE/DRIE, Medicaid and other public benefits. You will work primarily with non/limited English speaking clients to provide benefits assistance and screening.
The ideal volunteer would be fluent in Spanish, have excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working with older adults over the phone.
TIME COMMITMENT AND TRAINING!
2-3 days/week Our Benefits team will provide ALL necessary training and ongoing support to you!
