Tour guides needed for our guide dog students

Option 1
Panera Visits - FirstThursday through Monday of class
- Will need 1 or 2 volunteers on each day.
- Volunteers will socialize with students and take drink orders.
- This allows the trainers more time to train them with their guide dogs.
- Training staff is around most of the time and are in charge of the class.
- No sighted guide required, just enjoy their company and help with drinks!
Assist with Merchandise - First Friday of class from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
- Volunteers will help students purchase merchandise by describing items, passing them around to each person.
- Assist with sizing and colors, etc.
- No sighted guide required, just enjoy their company and help show merchandise.
Option 2
Outings - First Saturday or Sunday of class
- Students can go out for any of the following outings off-campus with volunteers from 12 PM to 4:15 PM, or 6:15 PM to 8:15 PM
- CVS/Walgreens in Smithtown
- Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove
- Nail Salon/Hair Salon/Barber Shop in Smithtown
- AMC Movie Theater in Stony Brook
- Volunteers pick up students from campus and drive to desired location
- Students may request to be dropped off and picked up or may request having the volunteer assist/join
Option 3
Outings - First Saturday or Sunday of class
- Students can go out for any of the following outings off-campus with volunteers from 12 PM to 4:15 PM, or 6:15 PM to 8:15 PM
- Local Restaurant
- Local Beach
- Port Jefferson Village
- Fishing Trip - Select dates only
- Volunteers pick up students from campus and drive to desired location
- Students may request to be dropped off and picked up or may request having the volunteer assist/join
