Food & Friends provides medically tailored meals, nutrition counseling, and friendship to 2,800 children and adults living with AIDS, cancer, and other life challenging illnesses in the Greater Washington DC area, all at no cost to our clients. A team of Registered Dieticians work alongside our team of professional Chefs to offer 11 different meal plans to accommodate our clients nutritional needs.
A volunteer is needed to take all of the internal knowledge of the kitchen staff and turn it into a written Policies & Procedures Manual for guiding our kitchen operations. The volunteer will not be developing any policies, simply turning our existing policies into a written document.
This volunteer should have professional experience writing policies & procedures. Although most of the work can be done virtually the volunteer should be available to come on-site for initial training and at least once a week there after to meet with the kitchen team and gather information. Schedule is flexible. We would like to begin as soon as possible and anticipate this project will take up to 12 weeks.
All Food & Friends volunteers, regardless of the capacity they volunteer in, must undergo a background check. This comes at no cost to our volunteers. If you are interested please send resume/credentials to Andrece Bassett at abassett@foodandfriends.org and use "Develop Operations Manual Application" in the subject line.
