Do you have an interest in having meaningful conversations on current events, music, food, art and much more?

What we offer

-A unique, fun and engaging experience

-Opportunities to participate in interesting conversations and activities in a safe and supportive environment

-Training in creative methods of communication and a variety of related topics

How you can help

Facilitate small group discussions with adults who have difficulty speaking, reading, listening or writing as a result of stroke, brain injury or brain illness

Requirements

-Good communication and interpersonal skills

-Genuine interest in having conversations

-Commitment of 3-4 hours a week for a minimum of 4 months

-Must be at least 18 years of age

Programs are held at the following locations:

Vaughan: Mackenzie Health (Jane/Rutherford) on Tuesdays

Maple Health Centre (Keele/McNaughton) on Wednesdays

Newmarket: Newmarket Health Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Stouffville: Parkview Village on Thursdays

Peterborough: Northminster United Church on Thursdays

Whitby: Westminster United Church on Mondays and Fridays

Our goal is to enhance the independence and community participation of people with physical disabilities every day through a wide range of programs and services across the country.

Since 1951, March of Dimes has been on the forefront of the disability movement in Canada. Every year, we provide programs and services to over 50,000 children and adults with disabilities.
