If you want young people to be engaged, active citizens, now’s your chance to help make it happen. The Gen2Gen campaign and Generation Citizen are teaming up to pilot a trailblazing new intergenerational civics project -- and are now recruiting volunteers over 50 to serve as Democracy Coaches at a public high school in Hyde Park.
This fall, coaches will help young people engage in direct political action through activities including co-leading classes, supporting students in small-group work, talking about your own civic engagement experiences, connecting students to local community leaders, and doing outside research to support your students’ advocacy project.

Mission Statement
We’re mobilizing people over 50 to help young people who need champions.
Description
Generation to Generation (Gen2Gen) is a diverse, action-oriented community of people who believe that experience matters, and that the goal of later life isn’t trying to remain young: it’s to be there for those who actually are. Because every child deserves a web of support, and every older adult has something to give.
The campaign shines a light on the mutual benefits of intergenerational relationships already happening, and features countless opportunities for people to get involved.
