Mission Statement
The Commission is a state of Illinois agency that protects the rights of persons with disabilities through 3 distinct programs, the Office of State Guardian, the Human Rights Authority and the Legal Advocacy Service.
Description
The Office of State Guardian which serves as guardian of last report for adults with disabilities as determined by the probate courts; the Human Rights Authority which investigates allegations of rights violations committed against persons with disabilities by service providers; and, the Legal Advocacy Services which provides legal advice and representation for persons with disabilities.
