"Your sharing of your story has influenced my story and I am forever grateful for your advice." - 8th grade student

Horning Middle School in Waukesha will be continuing their StoryCorps program for the 2018-2019 school year and we need volunteers like to you keep it going! The StoryCorps program is designed to heighten 8th grade students’ awareness of the rich stories all around them and to encourage them to dialogue with others while searching out these stories.

The program sessions will take place one Wednesday a month from December through May for 1 hour. Volunteers will be paired up with two students for the first 30 minutes and then another set of students for the remaining 30 minutes. Each month there will be a predetermined topic to center stories and discussion around, which will be made available ahead of time. General themes will include empathy & understanding, hope, integrity, perseverance, and conflict.
