NeedyMeds, a nonprofit in Gloucester, is looking for some volunteers to assist at a local senior center, to meet in-person with elders who are trying to reduce their prescription drug and healthcare costs.
Working in-person onsite at Senior Centers in Beverly, Gloucester and Rockport.
- Together with the elder they are assisting, volunteers will utilize the NeedyMeds website to find appropriate savings programs for seniors.
- Help seniors with necessary paperwork for savings programs
- Provide follow-up for seniors who complete applications
- Keep records of each appointment including conversations, suggestions provided and outcomes
- Teach those interested in using the NeedyMeds Storylines app how to download it and use it, and run reports
- Develop and maintain relationship with Senior Center directors and staff
- Willingness to ask supervisor or designee for help when answers are unknown
And if comfortable and interested... Conduct presentations on NeedyMeds and other appropriate health topics of interest to the senior community
