It's Back to School Time at HALOS!

The HALOS Back to School Collection Week will take place August 6th-10th, 2018. The HALOS Back to School Drive provides uniforms and school supplies for abused and neglected children being served by Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester County Department of Social Services as well as participants of the HALOS Kinship Care Program.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following duties:

Unload donations from vehicles.
Sort donations.
Pack supplies.
Check off and bag donations.
Deliver donations to case managers in the building.
If you are not available for a full shift, please feel free to sign up and stay for an hour or two!

The collection will take place at the Charleston County DSS Annex, which is on the Cherokee Street side of the Charleston County DSS building located at 3366 Rivers Avenue in North Charleston.

HALOS mission is to provide support and advocacy for abused and neglected children and kinship caregivers.

Description

Our Kinship Care Resource and Support Program is designed to provide the help and support your need. As a grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or family friend who has taken on the role of primary caregiver we offer you referrals for community resources, empowering group meetings, and options to participate in other HALOS programs, events and special opportunities. We strive to help relatives become the best caregivers possible and want them to know that they have an ally in the Charleston Community. HALOS work closely with the Department Of Social Services in the Tri-County Areas.
