It's the Ray Joiner Chess Tournament Celebrating Volunteerism!
Ray Joiner was an exemplary person and volunteer with the Pasadena Educational Foundation and PUSD Schools. We are holding this chess tournament to CELEBRATE him, his legacy and the game of chess he loved so much.
We are looking for individuals both with chess experience and without to help us organize and run our chess tournament on Saturday September 15 from 9-3:00 pm.
There are several volunteers roles we need to fill:
1. Helping with registration
2. Helping with pairings
3. Helping answer chess questions
4. Recording results
No special skills are required for check-in and score keepers. A competent level of chess knowledge is required for tournament monitors who answer player questions.
