Illinois Center for Autism is a not-for-profit, community based, mental health treatment and educational agency dedicated to serving people with autism. We are hosting our 10th bicycle riding event, Pedal for Autism, on Saturday, August 18, 2018. All proceeds from this event help support the services provided to ICA's students and adult clients.
Our start/end/registration location is at 104 United Drive, Collinsville, IL at the Metro East Parks and Recreation building parking lot.
Volunteers are needed to help with set-up of the registration area, registration check-in, to assist in giving directions to bicycle riders out on the Madison County Transit Trails in various locations (including Collinsville, Glen Carbon, Edwardsville, Hamel, Marine and Pontoon Beach) to distribute bottles of water and/or snacks to riders, to help troubleshoot for bicycle break-downs, and lastly to help tear down our registration area after the event.
We are interested in filling 2 or 3 volunteer shifts, ie., 6:00 - 11:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Volunteers who help in the Edwardsville, Hamel and Marine areas are not required to check in at the start/end/registration area. Instead, they may report directly to a location which is convenient for each volunteer.
