Wanted: Social Media Specialist!

• Are you a whiz at Instagram?
• Do your Facebook posts garner dozens of likes?
• Can you create a tweet that is sure to get retweeted?
• Excel at posting YouTube videos that people love to watch?

If so, you may be the volunteer we are looking for! Maya’s Hope is a 501(c)3 that works to improve the quality of life of orphaned, impoverished and special-needs children on a global scale. We are currently seeking a social media specialist. You will concentrate on reaching and activating potential donors online, effectively growing the number of engaged followers, and consistently pushing out compelling content about Maya’s Hope programs and activities. You need to be a self-motivated, detail-oriented designer with a record of success who can think creatively, brainstorm, meet deadlines, and work alone or within a team.

A strong command of internet marketing tools is a must for this volunteer opportunity. Your ability to use major search engines and operate Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and YouTube is critical.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Turn ideas into compelling, shareable content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.)
• Create daily content and help manage social media platforms
• Respond to all positive and negative reviews, comments, visitor posts, and messages in a timely manner
• Drive feedback and content by reaching out to customers for reviews and testimonials regarding their experiences
• Review analytics weekly and make changes in content posting times and material as needed
• Be detail oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have exceptional grammar skills, organizational skills, and people skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred, but not required depending on amount of experience. At least 2-3 years’ experience in professional social media development and design required.
