We are looking for someone to help at our durable medical equipment (DME) loan pool housed at Reliable Medical Supply in Brooklyn Park. The ideal person will be mechanically minded, physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk up/down stairs, and available either every Friday or every other Friday for four hours between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Our DME loan pool is our chapter's most utilized program. Last year 98% of the people we served received DME free of charge from our loan pool. This equipment allows people to maintain independence and stay safe as their ALS progresses. The assistant will help our staff process the large number of requests we receive each week so items are sent out as efficiently as possible.

What is ALS?
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system. ALS results in the progressive weakness of voluntary muscles which often leads to total paralysis. There is no known cause or cure for ALS. People with ALS typically live between two and five years after being diagnosed.
How does The ALS Association help?
We fulfill our mission by offering programs, services, and equipment free of charge to anyone affected by ALS residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
