Position Title: Families Moving Forward - Activity Coordinator and Food Coordinator

Families Moving Forward

Purpose: Families Moving Forward is a group therapy program designed for children who have been sexually abused and their non-offending parents. The group uses a whole family approach to healing. Families Moving Forward combines therapy, education and support to parents so that they can assist their children to heal and protect them from future abuse, along with a child-centered social environment where abused children can build resilience through activities with caring, competent adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activity Coordinator - The primary responsibility will be planning a children's activity and assisting the youth with the activity for youth between ages 5 and 15. This could include to activities or two levels of activities for the various ages. The activities need to be able to be held indoors in a relatively small space.

  • Food Coordinator- Manage family’s attendance via text message list during the day to have exact count of attendees. Choose and order food for the group. Pick up and bring the food to the group. Food is required to be prepared in a commercial kitchen so home-prepared food is not possible. You are NOT expected to pay for the purchasing of the food.

  • Serve Food - Both Food and Activity Coordinator will participate.

  • Clean up from serving food - Both Food and Activity Coordinator will participate.

  • Creating a welcoming environment for family attending the program - Both Food and Activity Coordinator will participate.
