Volunteer Judge for Subaru Story Contest
At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.
Position Summary
Volunteers in this role will report to Robin Plonsker, National Director, Institutional Giving, and Teri Johnson, Vice President, Volunteer Engagement. The outcomes of this role serve our mission by rewarding those LLS chapters who went above and beyond in implementing the Subaru "Loves to Care" program in their chapter.
This is the third consecutive year that Subaru has chosen LLS to be its partner for their annual Loves to Care" program. Through this program, LLS and Subaru retailers together are delivering more than 40,000 blankets, 7,700 arts & crafts kits and thousands of messages of hope to cancer patients across the nation during the months of June and July. Importantly, they also captured stories of impact while making these deliveries.
In this role, volunteers will help determine which five LLS chapters will each receive $10,000 for submitting the most compelling Subaru "Loves to Care" stories. This role will require the volunteer to read and use a five-point rubric to score the top 20 stories (each of them 1-4 paragraphs) submitted by LLS chapters.
