Bike MS Committee: Campus Liaison - Missouri State University, Webster University, etc...

Overview:

The volunteer Campus Liaison creates a working network of Springfield area student volunteers to support Bike MS: Ozarks, a fundraising cycling ride in the greater Joplin/Springfield, MO area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying event area leads and general event volunteers for local sites
  • Create and build relationships with Campus organizations to support event
  • Collaborate with Staff to gain full understanding of volunteer needs
  • Run event volunteer check-in and direct volunteers to areas in need
  • Manage large groups of volunteers at event site(s)
  • Serve as liaison between staff and volunteers on event weekend

Education and Support:

  • The volunteer Campus Liaison will work alongside National MS Society staff for continued support throughout the event
  • All volunteer Campus Liaisons will receive training on current issues of MS

Qualifications and Time Commitment:

  • Networking/relationship building with campus organizations
  • Outgoing and personable
  • Must be available to volunteer event weekend
  • Minimum commitment of 40 volunteer hours annually (July- October 2018)
  • Attend monthly meetings, with the possibility of more frequent meetings as the date of the event grows closer (virtual meetings only, via phone or online)

Impact:

  • The volunteer Campus Liaison will appropriately handle volunteer recruitment and assignment, ensuring a successfully run event
  • The volunteer Campus Liaison will help build a movement that will increase the funds raised through Bike MS and move us closer to a world free of multiple sclerosis
