About THE WAVE FOUNDATION
Location:
1420 GILMAN BLVD SUITE 2314, ISSAQUAH, WA 98027, US
Mission Statement
We are dedicated to ending relationship abuse and sexual violence through community awareness, education, and empowerment.
Description
The WAVE Foundation raises awareness about the societal impact of sexual assault and domestic violence. We build community and we fundraise to address the issue through our education program, Discover Your Power (DYP).
DYP focuses on three areas: Sexual Assault Awareness, Empowerment Self-Defense, and Healthy Relationships.
Our signature event, The WAVE Weekend and Cycle & Walk the WAVE, on September 16, is a non-competitive event for women of all ages and fitness levels. The WAVE is a non-mandatory fundraiser. The event features 4 bike routes 12 to 70-miles, and a scenic 4-mile walk. New route names were introduced in 2017: Brave, Strong, Fierce and Mighty, recognizing the special bond and sisterhood experienced at The WAVE.
Objectives include
- Expand number of event participants
- Offer pre-event activities that creates a community of participants
- 10% increase of participants involved in fundraising
- Forge sponsor relationships where participants directly interact with these businesses
- Expand corporate & team event participation
- Expand awareness of The WAVE Foundation’s mission with existing and new supporters
- Expand DYP program reach
- Bring more men into fundraising efforts
- Create a sustainable giving program
Please consider volunteering to help us create another memorable WAVE experience!
