ORGANIZATION: The Museum of Pop Culture

MoPOP

Calling all high school students looking to join a crew of young people looking to build youth power in the arts! The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) is looking for 15 young people (ages 14-18) to serve on the Youth Advisory Board as advisors on exhibits, marketing, and all-ages museum programming of music, film, performance, and more.

The group meets twice a month (nights and weekends) from September to May to work on projects such as our YAB-curated exhibition "SoundBoard Alley," the youth Science Fiction writing and film short competitions, as well as collaborate with local youth musicians during the "SoundOff!" competition. Description

The Museum of Pop Culture is dedicated to the exploration of creativity and innovation in popular music. By blending interpretative, interactive exhibitions with cutting-edge technology, MoPOP captures and reflects the essence of rock 'n' roll, its roots in jazz, soul, gospel, country and the blues, as well as rock's influence on hip-hop, punk and other recent genres. Visitors can view rare artifacts and memorabilia and experience the creative process by listening to musicians tell their own stories.
