Event Committee Member for Fundraising Luncheon

Responsibilities:

  • Attend Mentors & Allies Awards Luncheon on May 14, 2020 at The Statler Hotel Dallas
  • Attend Kick-Off Event (TBD April 2020)
  • Attend monthly committee meetings (in person or phone)
  • Fundraise amongst friends, family and coworkers
  • Recruit additional committee members
  • Advertise the event via your social media channels
  • Sell raffle tickets
  • Generate new revenue for the event by accessing personal connections (in-kind donors, sponsors, etc.)
  • Sign up for a specific sub-committee, listed below.

Support You’ll Receive:

  • Assistance with event logistics from WiNGS Event Manager, Development Manager and Chief Development Officer
  • Luncheon marketing materials and messaging; i.e. signage, program, materials, etc.
  • Sponsor follow up support
  • Sponsor stewardship
  • Day of event, management and run of show

Each committee member is requested to join at least one sub-committee for the Mentors & Allies Luncheon. All committee members are expected to help out with all aspects of the event but certain individuals will be the point person for those pieces of the event, ensuring the success and execution of their sub-committee.

Sub-Committees:

  1. Sponsorship Committee - With complete disregard for their personal image, the Sponsorship Committee will develop plans for soliciting individual and corporate sponsors for the event. Sponsorship levels range from $2,500 to $25,000. The ideal candidate for membership on this committee will be friendly and outgoing and will demonstrate a willingness to "grovel with the best of them." Most importantly, members of this committee must have the unique ability to not give up after four people say 'no’ because they recognize that the next person they talk to may solve all of their problems.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive list of potential sponsorship opportunities;
  • Solicits individuals and corporations to secure sponsorships;
  • Coordinates this effort with the other committee chair people;

  • Develop a list of potential raffle items and donors;
  • Solicit donors;
  • Arrange for pick-up and delivery of raffle items;

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Recruit volunteers to roles that suit them;
  • Organize the pre-event orientation and the introduction of volunteers;
  • Organize and maintain volunteer roster;
  • Organize volunteer orientation day of event;
  • Provide updates at committee meetings.
  • Manage volunteers day of event
  • Ensure that volunteers are reimbursed for their approved out-of-pocket expenses;
  • Ensure all volunteers are recognised for their efforts;

    4. Decorations / Giveaways Committee - With a love for décor and goody bags, the Decorations / Giveaways Committee determines necessary decorations based on theme and or color (flowers, raffle decorations, etc.) and ultimately tries to get the decorations donated or provided to WiNGS at a low cost. Also, the Committee works to secure donated items to be included in goody bags as a take away for guests.
