SAFG holds after school STEM classes for girls in elementary school (K-5 th grades). Our mission is to engage girls from a young age in STEM. As part of our program, we invite female STEM role models to a class during their 10-week session to talk about what they do, why they love STEM, answer questions and do an SAFG project with the girls. We want the girls to meet female STEM role models so they can see themselves in a STEM career some day!

Mission Statement
Scientific Adventures for Girl's mission is to remove systemic barriers to all girls’ participation in STEM starting in transitional kindergarten, engage them through hands-on learning, increase their positive attitudes toward STEM, and equip them with 21st century skills.
Description
Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAFG), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, provides after school and summer STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs to young children with a special focus on girls and disadvantaged youth. SAFG's goals are to increase positive attitudes toward STEM in TK-6th grade female students and to increase hands-on learning opportunities for girls everywhere (including in economically marginalized areas) to explore STEM concepts and encourage lifelong learning of STEM subjects. If you are a female in a STEM field, you can meet with one of our classes, share your story about what you do and how you got interested in your field and do a fun project if you choose.
