Department and/or Team: Marketing
Reports to: The Social Media Manager, Digital Marketing Director, and the Executive Director.
Works with: Correspondence will be involved with DPA marketing team and outside social media followers and other supporters on a regular basis.
Description of Role: This position will support the assistant marketing director and marketing director in execution of Dallas Pets Alive social media strategy on specified platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Posting scheduled content on assigned social media platform multiple times daily.
- Responding to any messages, mentions and other communication from DPA social media followers.
- Reporting to marketing director and assistant director on social media trends.
- Understanding social media analytics and report on analytics to marketing team leadership.
- Collaborating with marketing leadership and DPA leadership team on social media strategies for the specified platform.
Skills/Qualifications Needed:
- Proficiency with use of email and have smartphone access.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and maintain professional level correspondence at all times.
- Positive attitude at all times and ability to represent DPA in a positive manner to the public.
- Flexibility of schedule, including availability on weekends.
- Must be a self-starter and comfortable both with taking initiative and with working collaboratively as a team.
- Must be flexible and able to work effectively with a variety of leadership styles.
- Must love animals and be dedicated to the cause of animal welfare.
Time Commitment: 5-8 hours per week with flexibility of schedule required.

OUR APPROACH
Our organization is run mostly by volunteers, and all of our pets are housed by dedicated foster families throughout North Texas.
We rescue and help the healthy and treatable pets at greatest risk for euthanasia at our partner shelters. We also provide assistance and resources to pet owners having problems so significant that they need to surrender their pets to a shelter.
In our rescue program, we focus on:
- Rescuing healthy and treatable pets at North Texas shelters at the greatest risk of being euthanized
- Reducing owner surrender through our Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program
- Opening kennel space by transporting pets to partners in the U.S. and Canada in need of adoptable animals
- Challenging the way our community views rescue animals. We believe that adoption is not only right thing to do but THE thing to do!

*At this time, we do not accept court-ordered service hours nor track community service hours.
*Our organization does not currently have an established office location, however in March 2023 DPA opened up an Adoption Container.
