Peconic Bay Medical Center's family Caregivers Center is the first of it's kind on Long Island. This specialized program is dedicated to the support and well-being of family caregivers who provide care for a loved one confronted with an illness. Every family caregiver's journey is unique and requires individual and personalized support. Family caregiving can be an isolating and stressful experience. The goal of this program is to give family caregivers the opportunity to be connected and supported by volunteers who have also the had experience of being a family caregiver. The family Caregivers Center is a place for support, information and resources for all family caregivers. The program offers help from social workers and specially trained volunteer Caregiver Coaches. The hospital-based program is available to family caregivers Monday thru Friday. Family caregivers are offered additional support through weekly outreach calls from volunteer Caregiver Coaches. This effort provides family caregivers with ongoing support and resources throughout their caregiving journey.
