The purpose of this program is to provide home cooked meals, which are frozen, to clients unable to prepare full nutritional meals.
The meals are picked up on Friday mornings on the Federation campus in Boca Raton between 8:30am - 9:00am. Volunteers deliver to 10 -12 households in a pre determined area within Delray Beach or Boca Raton. The routes are provided ahead of time so the volunteer knows where they are delivering. It usually take 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete deliveries.
This program is every Friday, however, we also need back up drivers to cover for those on vacation, ill, etc. Notice will be given to back up drivers to see if they are available to fill in. This gives volunteers the option of driving weekly or as needed, so it should fit everyone's schedule.
Many of our clients are homebound or don't get out much, so the volunteers are always a welcome sight for many of our seniors.
