The Workforce Development program at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington - Hogar Immigrant Services advances the economic well-being of every student through workforce development courses, GED preparation classes, job readiness training, and one-on-one job counseling.

To continue our mission, Hogar Immigrant Services needs Workforce Development Trainers with expertise in one of the following fields:

  • Math,
  • English, or
  • Child care

Classes are held Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 9AM-12PM at our location in Manassas. Volunteer trainers commit to three hours per week. Teaching experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are required. Ample curriculum, training, and support are provided!

Now recruiting trainers for the fall semester (August 20th - November 8th). Mandatory training on Saturday, August 18th.

Description

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Arlington's Newcomer Services is made up of two departments - Hogar Immigrant Services and Migration and Refugee Services.
Hogar Immigrant Services responds to the Church’s call for social justice by welcoming the stranger to this country, regardless of ethnicity, religion, nationality, or ability to pay.
Migration and Refugee Services is one of 104 national affiliates of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Since its founding in 1975, the office has resettled and assisted over 30,000 refugees and asylees in the Northern Virginia community.
