DESCRIPTION
Our youth dance facilitators are responsible for leading drill team dance classes for groups of girls from 8-17 years of age. The facilitator is responsible for adhering to our curriculum, while incorporating personal creativity and personality through modern, inspirational, and popular forms of dance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing age appropriate dance routines, instruction and choreography that meet student skill level and dance ability
- Modeling a healthy lifestyle and a high level of diplomacy and ethics that align with our vision to help students make better choices
- Exploring dance expression to strengthen creativity, leadership, and confidence
- Behaving in a mentorship capacity by exhibiting leadership and professionalism
- Ensuring a safe environment physically, emotionally and psychologically
- Displaying a level of respect for students by offering fair and equitable treatment
- Using constructive, encouraging, non-threatening language that promotes positive outcomes
- Encouraging diversity, self-efficacy, and inclusion at all levels of teaching and communication
- Providing constructive discipline that inspires self-awareness and personal growth
- Capable of communicating clear instructions, and can set expectations conducive for youth
- Upholding the mission and adhering to the operational functions of the organization
- Reporting all injuries, safety concerns, and programmatic and organizational issues
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year dance experience; formal training is not necessary but is highly considered
- At least one year teaching in a group setting or working with youth population
- Displays leadership and is attuned and sensitive to the needs of our community
- Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of service and care
- Displays excellent communication, problem solving skills, and initiative
- Must participate in a live demonstration to present a sample of your dance portfolio
- Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain certification
- Able to teach evening/flexible hours
- Willing to undergo a background check
