ORGANIZATION: Rebuilding Alliance

Do you love art? Are you passionate about exploring the intersection of the arts and politics?

If yes, then we are looking for YOU!

Rebuilding Alliance is looking for a self-starter to take our art show, 'Gaza in Colors: Stories from Behind the Wall’ to the next level. Here is the facebook link to our last event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1834824973479004/

Our art shows next moves include the Yerba Buena Art Center, UCSC, and with your help many more.

  • Description of the Position

We are looking for an organized, trustworthy, and willing individual to take on the tasks of scheduling, planning, and putting together the art show, Gaza in Colors. This position does not require experience; we are simply looking for someone who is passionate about art and willing to put time into developing the show. All ages, backgrounds, and forms of experience are welcome.

We would love to have you work from the office. Yet, we are also open to someone who wishes to work from home. For the right person, we will do our absolute best to accommodate.

So long as you have a deep interest in our mission and the future of the art show, we want to hear from you! The commitment would be about two-three days a week and there is room for development and advancement within the position.

  • More on Gaza in Color: Stories from Behind the Wall

In this interactive multimedia exhibition, Rebuilding Alliance brings together original works by Gaza artists seeking to share their humanity with the outside world. Despite the ongoing eleven year-long blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt on the Gaza Strip, the violence and human rights tragedies that surround them, these artists are using creativity to translate a dark reality into art. Film and interactive teleconferences, live from Gaza, offer further insight.

  • Our Mission at Rebuilding Alliance

Rebuilding Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rebuilding war-torn communities and bringing the world together to make them safe.

Our vision: A just and enduring peace in Israel and Palestine founded upon equal rights, security, and opportunity for all. Together we are a significant voice for recognition of planning rights, village-centered rebuilding and human rights.

About Rebuilding Alliance

Location:

50 Woodside Plaza Ste. 627, Redwood City, CA 94061, US

Mission Statement

Rebuilding Alliance is dedicated to advancing equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future.

Description

We learned early-on that to build in war-torn communities one must partner locally with non-governmental organizations that hold the trust of the local community and maintain the highest standards of fiscal and personal integrity.

Everyone who works at Rebuilding Alliance is committed to building peace and justice through programs that make a tangible difference and together, we do our best to make RA a great place to work. Many who have joined RA as interns or in entry-level jobs have gone on to their dream-job or pursued advanced degrees.

One of our past interns wrote the following:

"I always talk about interning with Rebuilding Alliance as one of my most important, challenging and formative work experiences, especially when I'm in interviews. You asked and expected big things of me right away, and I'm so grateful for that - coordinating a teleconference series, making phone calls to important peacekeepers, offering insights in team meetings, updating our internet presence. These are skills that I value so highly, and that I'm sure will be so important as I enter this industry that is entirely new to me. I would also like to stay in touch with you and Rebuilding Alliance and help in any way I can in the coming years, whether through donations or volunteering my time when I'm back in the Bay Area."
