Green Snoqualmie Partnership’s oldest volunteer-led restoration site needs your help this summer! Help care for trees and shrubs planted in the last year by mulching and weeding quick-growing invasive weeds that threaten to overgrow them. We will also begin removing a new patch of invasive weeds to make way for planting trees and shrubs this winter.

Where to meet: Cottonwood Forest at the intersection of Cottonwood Dr SE and SE Linden Loop, on Snoqualmie Ridge

What to bring
: Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) with sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Snacks, tools, and work gloves provided.

Please Note: Try not to leave anything valuable visible in your vehicle.

If you are under 18 and will NOT be accompanied by supervising adult/parent/guardian you will need to bring the youth waiver release form signed by your parent/guardian to the event.

Green Snoqualmie Partnership Vision: A city with healthy forests that provide high value habitat for wildlife and access for residents and visitors to experience nature, supported by an aware and engaged community that is working together to restore and care for these lands.

About Forterra

Location:

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Description

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
