Become a Virtual Patient Visitor with Soldiers' Angels!

Unfortunately due to the COVID pandemic, family members and volunteers alike are unable to visit hospitalized veteran patients at the Atlanta VA. Veterans living in the VA's Community Living Centers and domiciliaries and veteran patients in patient wards are feeling isolated and lonely without the usual company they get at the VA.

While we cannot visit them in person, Soldiers' Angels has donated tablets and iPhones to the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center so these veterans will have access to social media, watch TV and movies, play games, and video chat with their families virtually! In addition, we have the unique opportunity to host virtual patient visits with veterans!

Volunteers who sign up to video chat with a veteran will be provided information to connect with the veteran in advance of their scheduled time slot.

Please only sign up for one time slot until you have completed one and then you may sign up for another, if it's a fit for you and you feel comfortable taking on future time slots. We want to give all of our donors and amazing volunteers the opportunity to participate first.

By signing up to conduct a virtual patient visit you are agreeing to the following:

All conversations will be respectful of the veteran's rights and confidentiality. You should take the time to listen to them and thank them for their service. At no time will you exchange personal contact information, take any pictures of the veteran and will avoid conversations about religion, politics or anything controversial, even if a veteran initiates the conversation.
