Mission Statement: Life Learning Center delivers a 12-week education and care continuum to help "at-risk" individuals reach their highest potential by addressing barriers in all domains of life: physical, relational, spiritual, emotional, and financial. Our goal is to help those in situational or generational poverty not only find a job, but sustain a living wage career.
As a local 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Board, Staff, and Candidates served do not take any state or federal tax dollars. The Center’s annual fundraiser, the St. Patrick’s Gala, generates over $280,000 in revenue to support LLC’s $1.1 million-dollar operating budget. The Staff and Steering Committee for 2019’s Gala event is seeking a volunteer graphic designer to execute and promote the annual fundraiser in a timely, professional manner.
Job Duties:
We are looking for a reliable, volunteer Graphic designer with up-to-date knowledge to execute marketing material relative to Life Learning Center’s fundraising initiatives (i.e. Gala event). You will work on a variety of projects, including Life Learning Center’s website, formal invitations, sponsor benefit package, event signage, and PowerPoint presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and organize sponsors’ logos and benefits on a regular basis utilizing LLC’s Gala design
- Develop social media content for all platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) to promote Gala event
- Coordinate budget constraints and expenses with Finance committee
- Present progress reports to Gala steering committee on a monthly and/or weekly basis
- Work with printing company to execute deadlines for project implementation
Requirements:
- Proven graphic designing experience with strong portfolio
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
- MUST HAVE In-Design, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and professionalism is a must
Timeframe:
Life Learning Center is looking for a volunteer graphic design intern to begin working September 2018 - March 2019 for up to 8-10 hours/week. Hours may vary based on project deadlines. Volunteer will not be required to be on-site the full 10 hours.
