Catholic Charities New Hampshire is home to eight Rehab and Nursing Facilities throughout the State. Due to a recent grant, Catholic Charities is working to implement the Music and Memory program into our Nursing Centers . The Music and Memory program helps individuals living in Long Term Care facilities who face cognitive and physical difficulties find a renewed connection to their lives through customized music.
Volunteers will help through working 1 on 1 with Residents to identify music that may have a deeper meaning and connection to that individual. This can be accomplished through interviewing residents, using web searches to find "standout hits" while they were growing up. These songs could include wedding songs, Christmas Music and more.
Volunteers will also help download music and create playlists.
Volunteers are absolutely vital to our organization and the helping hands are greatly appreciated. The smiling face of a volunteer helps bring joy into the lives of those who call our Nursing Centers Home.
