The donation coordinator takes in donated equipment and/or gives out donated equipment on a no contact basis. The volunteer will be notified when a person wants to donate equipment or is in need of donated equipment.
- The volunteer will contact the person donating or receiving the equipment and arrange a mutually convenient time for the person or family member to be at the warehouse.
- If the person is receiving donated equipment, the volunteer will get to the warehouse 15 minutes prior to the appointment, get the requested equipment out, leave it at the front of the building, lock up and go about a half block away. This way the volunteer can be sure the person got the equipment.
- Likewise, if the person is donating equipment, the volunteer will get there a few minutes early and wait about a half block away. After the person drops off the equipment to be donated and leaves, the volunteer will go back to the warehouse, open up, put the equipment in, lock up and return to their schedule.
About Assist ME
12636 Bannock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28277, US
Our mission is to acquire and provide mobility related rehabilitative equipment to individuals in need to help them regain lost mobility and maximize their independence and quality of life. Our goal is to establish Assist M.E. as the go-to organization for advocacy on behalf of and providing assistance to individuals with mobility disabilities in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg community.
Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients.
