Hospitality Booth Volunteers, age 55+ needed to assist international guests for Bountiful Sumerfest
ORGANIZATION: Davis County RSVP
Please visit the new page to apply.
Volunteers, age 55 or greater are needed to help with the Hospitality Desk which serves the international guest performers for Bountiful's Summerfest Festival. The hospitality booth is open Friday, August 10th, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm and Saturday, August 11th, 10:30 am - 10:00 pm. Volunteer duties include keeping food and beverage (including coffee) well-stocked and in general, helping keep our international dancers happy. This position requires a lot of intercultural communication and provides the opportunity to learn about different cultures and customs first hand. Volunteers must obtain a back stage pass in order to enter.
There are, on average, more than 90 performing artists who donate their time and talents to make Summerfest such a memorable event each year. They would not be able to perform for us at no charge without this kind of support from local families. This volunteer opportunity is offered through Davis Co. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and is for people age 55 or better. Volunteers younger than 55 years of age may contact James Bates, Summerfest Events Coordinator, at 801-295-3618 to volunteer. Benefits of volunteering through RSVP include mileage reimbursement for travel between home and the volunteer station (up to 200 miles per month), as well as supplemental insurance coverage while serving. Call us today for more information and to enroll as a volunteer. Pat Brown Davis RSVP Program Coordinator 801-525-5052

Mission Statement
Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
