Primary responsibility: individuals who want to engage and talk with children, their parents - know their names. Spend time 'working the welcome center’ area. If it is not too busy - willing to sit down and color with the kids, etc. If it is the families first time, showing them around.
We want to emphasize the 'family’ feeling. I want the feeling to 'be like home’ where it is safe, secure, and people know who you are when you walk through the door.
How many of our kids have sat in a waiting room at DCS, or the hospital, or similar setting while waiting to find out what will happen next from the adults? The idea is to feel 'different’ with a family atmosphere.
As far as secondary responsibilities, if there are no children or adults in the welcome area - they can assist with other needs as assigned or available.

Founded in 1982, Christian Family Care Agency is a private nonprofit, 501(c)(3) social services agency that provides: Adoption, Foster Care, Pregnancy Counseling, along with Child & Family Counseling programs focused on meeting the needs of children and families in Arizona.
CFC’s fundamental belief is that a nurturing family is vital to every child’s success. Hundreds of children that have come to CFC in crisis situations are now part of loving and caring families.
Christian Family Care is licensed by the State of Arizona, and accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
